Victorian Ladies Book Set Antique 1900s Katrine / The Shuttle / Beverly of Graustark

This is a set of 3 Grosset & Dunlap books - Katrine by Elinor Macartney Lane, The Shuttle by Frances Hodgson Burnett, and Beverly of Graustark by George Barr McCutcheon. All three feature Victorian style Gibson Girl portraits on the front covers. Beverly of Graustark (1904) features a blue cover with dark blue lettering. The spine is also lettered in dark blue with embossed border lines. It has 357 pages with several black and white illustration plates. The Shuttle (1907) features a gray cover with a floral decorated columns and a decorative border around the portrait. The spine is also decorated with a column. It has 512 pages. Katrine has a light yellow-green cover with a full-cover watercolor illustration. The spine has black lettering. It has an illustration plate at the title page and 315 pages. All three books also have several advertisement pages at the end.

The books vary in condition, but are overall in good vintage condition for their age and use. Katrine must have had a book jacket at some point that stuck to the book because there is a small bit of leftover paper on the front of the cover to the right of Katrine's hands and a large patch on the back cover covering almost the back cover. The covers and spine have general wear with some stains and discoloration. The spines are still attached, but the front cover is starting to separate at the title page. There are inscriptions inside the front cover - "Not to be loaned." in pencil and "Elva Merry Christmas 1912 Ha Ha" in pen. The pages are yellowed. The Shuttle has minimal wear to the covers. There is a pencil inscription inside the front cover, "1915? Elva from Elmer Bates Naubeek". The spines are still attached, but again starting to separate at the title page. The pages are yellowing. Beverly of Graustark has some general wear to the covers with some small scratching to the front portrait and some fading to the lettering on the spine. This book was a former library book with the library card pocket and card still inside the front cover and the name of the library written in pencil. The spines are still attached but also starting to separate at the title page. The pages are yellowed.

The books are all the same size. They are 5.25 by 7.75 inches. They are all about 1.5 inches thick.
