This is the antique 1913 Macmillan edition of Elementary Biology by Peabody and Hunt. It features a green cover with black lettering on the cover and gold lettering on the spine. The endpapers inside the front and back covers are an olive green. The book covers plant, animal, and human biology. The book is illustrated with black and white photographs and illustrations. There are 229 pages followed by several pages of ads for other Macmillan books.
The book is in fair antique condition for its age and use. It was a former library book so the spine number is still faintly printed on the spine and there is a library card pocket and date slip inside the front cover. The library also embossed their seal on the title page. The covers and spine have wear with fading, fraying, and discoloration. The gold lettering is still bright. The spines are attached but cracked at both the front and back covers. The pages are yellowed and there are a few loose pages throughout.
The book measures 7.5 by 5.25 inches. It is 1 inch thick.
