This is a hand painted ironstone ceramic pitcher. The pitcher is white ironstone with embossed detailing around the scalloped rim. The embossing meets at the front of the pitcher to form a butterfly. Around the rim is painted purple and gold in a speckle pattern. The handle is decorated with gold vertical lines. Both sides of the pitcher are painted with pink roses with green and brown leaves and stems. The pitcher is unmarked.
The pitcher is in good condition for its age and use. The paint is intact with some fading to the paint on the rim and handle. The spout of the pitcher has a small hairline crack. Otherwise, there are no other chips or cracks.
The pitcher measures 3.5 inches in diameter at its base. It is 6 inches long from spout to handle edge. It is about 6.5 inches tall.
