This is a set of two antique or near-antique books with green and tan covers. The set includes The Secret of the Quiet Mind by The Reverend John S. Bunting, published in 1929 by the Fleming H. Revell Company and Poor Dear Margaret Kirby by Kathleen Norris, published in 1913 by MacMillan. Secret has a tan cover with brown lettering and a green Art Nouveau style floral decoration on the front cover. The spine is lettered in brown with a small leaf decoration. There are 127 pages. Margaret has a full color illustration of Margaret and family on the cover with lettering in black. The spine and back cover are an olive green. The spine is lettered in gold with a small flower decoration. Margaret has one full-color illustration plate at the title page and advertisement pages at the end. There are 393 pages.
The books are in good antique condition for their age and use. Both have general wear to the covers with most wear at corners and edges. Margaret's front illustration is intact and bright with one small scratch near Norris and some fading to the edges. The gold lettering is intact. The spines are attached in both books and both books have yellowed pages.
Margaret measures 5.25 inches by 7.75 inches. It is 1.5 inches thick. Secret measures just under 5.25 inches by 7.5 inches. It is 1 inch thick.
