This is the vintage 1948 edition of the Amana Recipes cookbook. It has a black cover with a repeating pattern of small white flowers on the front, spine, and back cover. The front has a small white box for the title. The inside front and back covers are illustrated with a black line drawing of a kitchen. The Amana Villages were a group of seven villages in east-central Iowa that were home to German Inspirationalists. The cookbook features classic German recipes. The book is illustrated and there are 120 pages.
The book is in great vintage condition for its age and use. The covers have general wear, mostly to the spine. The spines are attached. Mother and Dad wrote, "To Elizabeth from Mother and Dad 9/10/51" in ink inside the front cover. The pages are just beginning to yellow.
The book measures 8.75 by 5.5 inches. It is half an inch thick.
