This is the antique 1920 edition of The School Song Book edited by Osbourne McConathy and published by C.C. Birchard & Company. The book features light brown covers with dark brown letters, decorative details, and spine linen. This is the student edition which includes vocal parts only. The book includes 188 folk songs, spirituals, hymns, and popular songs of the time. There are 153 pages.
The book is in great antique condition for its age and use. The covers have general wear, mostly to corners and edges. The front cover has a scraped away spot in the upper right corner. C. Beckman wrote their name and 306 inside the front cover. Someone also wrote 105 in pencil. Inside the back cover someone wrote in ink, "Mrs. O'Malley prefers the following selections to any others. 147 121 153 148". The spines are attached.
The book measures 10.5 by 7 inches. It is half an inch thick.
