This is the vintage 1945 edition of The Horseman's Encyclopedia by Margaret Cabell Self, published by A.S. Barnes and Company. It has an orange cover with gold lettering on the spine. There is an illustration of a horse on the title page. The encyclopedia is also illustrated with black and white photos and illustrations. There are 519 pages.
The book is in vintage condition for its age and use and was a former school library book. The covers have wear and discoloration with tape remnants on the front cover. The name of the school is stamped on the outer pages and marked out with sharpie on the bottom outer pages and on the title page. There are what looks like crayon dots on the inside of the front and back cover. Someone wrote 8451 in ink on the title page. There is the remnants of a library pocket in the inside back cover. The pages are starting to yellow. Please see photos!
The book measures 9 by 6 inches. It is 1.5 inches thick.
