This is the August 1976 fourth printing edition of Private Collections: A Culinary Treasure, edited by Janet E.C. Wurtzburger and published by The Women's Committee of the Walters Art Gallery in Baltimore, Maryland. The cookbook is square and features a classical painting from the gallery on the cover with lettering in white. The painting wraps around so part of the spine shows off the painting. The front and end papers are olive green. The book has black and white as well as full color photographs of the gallery's collections along with recipes provided by members of the Walters Gallery. James Beard wrote the introduction. There are 256 pages.
The book is in great vintage condition for its age and use. The cover has general wear, mostly along the corners and edges. The colors are bright with minimal fading or discoloration. The spines are attached at front and back. Pat Vogel wrote their name in ink inside the front cover. The pages are still bright with minimal to no yellowing. There are two pieces of ephemera in the book. A purple post-it marking the page and a letter from Don to Pat and Curt.
The book measures 9 inches by 8.5 inches. It is about 1 inch thick.
