This is an antique leather-wrapped cutlery box from Theodor B. Starr. It is a vertical box in a rectangular shape that has been wrapped in a burgundy-brown leather. The top edges are curved and there is a front button with an internal brass latch to open and close the box. Inside, the box is lined with bright blue velvet. The lid has a diagonal light blue satin ribbon lettered in gold. The ribbon says Theodor B. Starr New York.
The box is in fair antique condition for its age and use. The leather does have scratches and scuffs all over. The box does open and close with the button. The box has started to crack along the left and front side of the box. Inside, the velvet and ribbon do have staining. One side of the lining is missing. The lid is still attached with the hinges and opens and closes easily.
The box measures 7.25 inches tall. It is 4.5 inches long by 5 inches wide.
