This is a handmade rag rug basket made from cream and light aqua fabric with a floral pattern. The basket is made from cotton fabric wrapped around an inner coil. Those coils are wrapped together with small fabric ties and knots. The basket alternates between the blue fabric on the bottom and top with the cream fabric in the middle. Both the cream and blue fabric have small blue and white flowers with stems and leaves all over. There are handles on either sides of the basket.
The basket is in good vintage condition for its age and use. It's slightly misshapen, giving it a nice cottage look. There are lots of loose threads from the frayed sides of the wrapped fabric. The cream fabric does have some discoloration and staining. There are no holes, tears, or loose parts of the basket.
The basket measures 9.5 inches long by 8 inches wide. It is 3.25 inches thick.
