This is an antique red and gold Autographs album. It has an embossed deep red leather cover with a gold illustrations of leaves and flowers with album outlined in gold. The spine is also decorated with gold flowers. The cover has an inset tinted photograph portrait of a woman in profile wearing a blue, white, and gold silk scarf wrapped around her head and over her shoulder. The pages inside are lightweight cream color with gilt ends. The title page is printed in full color with gold lettering with two birds on a branch. It is marked at the very bottom and very tiny, UTW. Beatty & Forst N.Y.
The album is in great antique condition for its age and use. The pages are all blank. The covers have some wear, especially to the corners, edges, and top and bottom of the spine. The papers inside have yellowed and the gilt ends have darkened. The inside front cover has a pencil shorthand notation. It looks like a sticker was removed taking away some of the paper on the inside left side endpaper.
The album measures 6 inches long by 3.75 inches wide. It is a quarter of an inch thick.
