This is the antique 1896 Second Series edition of The World Beautiful by Lilian Whiting and published by The Roberts Brothers. It features a white linen cover with a gold illustration of a wildflower bouquet and lettering in dark green. The spine is lettering in gold and also has a gold flower. The pages ends are gilt. There is a white satin ribbon bookmark.
The book is in good antique condition for its age and use. The covers have general wear with staining, especially on the spine, which has darkened. The gold detailing on the front cover is intact but the spine has faded. Haynes wrote their name in pencil inside the front cover. The gilt page ends are still shiny. The The ribbon has separated and is just inserted into the pages. The pages are yellowed.
The book measures 6.75 by 4.5 inches. It is .75 inches thick.
