This is the 1942 edition of Modern Pattern Design by Harriet Pepin. It has green covers with blue and red lettering on both covers and spine. The front cover also has an illustration of a dress form with long trailing fabric in blue. The book covers pattern making through the use of the pattern block system. It is fully illustrated with black and white drawings and diagrams. There are 253 pages.
The book is in good vintage condition for its age and use. There is a brown stain centered on the front cover. Otherwise, the covers have general wear to corners and edges. The covers are still attached the spine. There are bookplates, stamps, and signatures of the former owners inside the front cover. The pages are yellowed.
The book measures 8 by 11 inches. It is 1.25 inches thick.
