This is a tintype portrait photograph of a young woman in a daguerreotype case. The photograph looks to be a tintype of a young woman with dark hair in a white dress. The portrait is in a daguerreotype wood case that's wrapped in leather and embossed with a geometric cross pattern. There is a small metal hook on the right side.
The case and photograph are in antique condition. The photograph is offset in the frame so that the bottom black border can be seen along with the left edge of the photo. The brass mat and border are tarnished and discolored. The bottom edge of the brass frame is missing. The daguerrotype case is only the right side; the left side is missing. The leather has mostly worn away on the case, exposing the wood underneath.
The case measures 2.5 by 3 inches. It is a quarter of an inch thick.
