This is a Russian brass engraved icon featuring Mary and Jesus. The icon has a print of Mary looking down on a crucified Jesus in gray and black. This is overlaid with a riza or brass metal cover that is molded and embossed to look 3D. The brass is engraved with MTR in the upper left corner, which is Russian for Mother of God and BRB or God in the right corner. The bottom is also engraved with Russian. The back is covered in cardboard and held in by brass tabs. At the top of icon is a small brass tab with a hole in the center to hang up the icon.
The icon is in good vintage or antique condition for its age and use. The print has some discoloration and scratch through Mary's left side. The brass has some tarnishing and discoloration. The bottom left corner side has bent.
The icon measures 4 inches wide and 5 inches long. It is .5 inches thick.
