This is the 1960 Larousse Encyclopedia of Mythology with an introduction by Robert Graves, published by Prometheus Press. It has gray-beige linen covers with gold lettering and the gold Prometheus sunburst logo on the spine. The endpapers are black and white photos of a Greek temple. The books covers mythology from around the world with sections on Greek, Roman, Celtic, Nordic, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, the Americas, Oceanic, and African mythology. There are 8 color illustration plates and the rest of the book is illustrated with numerous black and white photographs. There are 500 pages.
The book is in good vintage condition for its age and use. The covers have some discoloration with staining to the front. The gold lettering is intact. The covers are still attached at the spine at the inside front and back. The pages are yellowed but the illustration plates are still bright.
The book measures 8.75 inches by 11.5 inches. It is 1.5 inches thick.
