This is a dreamy 1936 Raffray aquatint etching titled Dans La Vallee. It features a lovely village by a river with a stone bridge and house in the foreground and the village and church spire in the background. The etching is colored in light shades of blue, brown, green, red, gray, and white. The etching has a copyright 1936 Camilla Lucas - NY. USA label in the upper right of the etching. The etching is signed Raffray and titled Dans la Vallee in pencil below the etching. The etching is matted with a cream mat and framed in wood frame painted gold. There is picture wire on the back.
The etching is in great vintage condition for its age and use. The mat has darkened with some foxing areas. The glass is clear and the frame is tight. The gold paint has some general wear, giving it a nice chippy patina. The picture wire is solidly attached.
The etching measures 14.5 inches long by 11.5 inches wide. It is .5 inches thick.
