This is the antique 1911 pocket edition of Sir Walter Scott's Ivanhoe, published by The MacMillan Company. It has olive green covers with black Art Nouveau motifs on the front and the MacMillan Company logo on the spine. The inside front and back cover endpapers are brown. There is a map of Ivanhoe Country at the Introduction. This edition is part of MacMillan's Pocket Series of English Classics.
The book is in great antique condition for its age and use. It has general wear, mostly to the spine edges. Joe Lang wrote his name and Seat 138 inside the front cover in ink. Someone else wrote October, 1988 in pencil, and there is also a shorthand notation in pencil. The spine has started to detach at the pocket American and English Classics ad before the title page. The pages are yellowed.
The book measures 4.25 inches by 5.75 inches. It is .75 inches thick.
