This is the antique 1886 edition of Childe Harold's Pilgrimage by Lord Byron, edited by William J. Rolfe, and published by Ticknor and Company. It has reddish-brown leather covers with gold lettering on the front cover and spine. The inside front and back cover endpapers are a brownish-gray. This edition is illustrated throughout with black and white illustrations and etchings. There are 288 pages.
The book is great antique condition for its age and use. It has some wear along the spine where the leather has begun to wear away as well as wear at the corners. The leather is in good condition with minimal staining or fading. The gold lettering is intact and still bright. George K. Buck put his bookplate, stamped his name, and wrote his first name in pencil all inside the front cover. The covers are attached at the spine. The pages have slightly yellowed.
The book measures 6.75 by 5 inches. It is .75 inches thick.
