This is a cream tapered round tin with an all-over chinoiserie floral print typical of the K'ang Hsi period. The print features birds sitting on branches and leaves in shades of black, gray, green, and yellow. On two sides, there are clusters of light red and yellow flowers. The lid of the tin has a green and yellow geometric border. The top of the lid also has geometric borders in shades of green and yellow. The lid has a tapered button handle. The inside of the tin is silver. The bottom of the tin is marked Made in England and has an explanation of the golden age of Chinese pottery.
The tin is in good condition for its age and use. The tin has general wear with some yellowing. There are some small scratches around the edge of the tin and in one of the large leaves. The inside has scratches and large tarnish spots. The bottom has started to rust.
The tin measures 6.5 inches tall from base to top of lid knob. It is 4.25 inches in diameter.
