This is an antique 1900 edition of Tagliches Handbuch, which translates to Daily Handbook for Good Times and Bad by Johann Friedrich Starck and published by Concordia Publishing House. It includes encouragements, prayers, and songs for the healthy, the afflicted, the sick, the dying, and special occasions. It also includes an appendix for pregnant women, women in labor, mothers, and the infertile. This is the Repentance Edition, revised by F. Pieper. It has black pebbled leather bound softcovers with a gold cross on the cover and gold lettering on the spine. The endpapers are black and the page ends are gilded. There is a section of note pages at the front to input family information like births, marriages, deaths, etc. There is one black and white portrait of Starck at the title page. There are 666 pages as well as the 99 page appendix.
The handbook is in good antique condition for its age and use. The covers have general wear, mostly to the edges. The gold cross on the cover has faded. The gilt page ends are still bright. The covers are still attached at the spines and the spine is tight. The pages have yellowed with some minor areas of staining.
The handbook measures 8.5 by 5.75 inches. It is 1.75 inches thick.
