This is an antique 1870 edition of Webster's Pocket Dictionary. The dictionary is leather-bound with black leather and the title written in a gold ribbon illustration on the front. It has a flap that covers the page ends which are gilded. The dictionary starts with pictorial illustrations followed by the traditional dictionary pages. There are 276 pages.
The dictionary is in fair antique condition for its age and use. The covers are worn with wearing away of the black dye and fading to the gold lettering. The dictionary is missing its title pages and the endpaper inside the front cover is starting to peel up and off. The dictionary is also missing the entire Z section, as the pages end at Withdraw to Wort. There is a faint pencil signature inside the back cover.
The dictionary measures 4.25 inches by 3 inches.
