This is an antique early pattern glass style inkwell or perfume bottle. The inkwell is white like milk glass with pansies painted on three sides. The top of the bottle is a gold metal with a rounded lid and an etched rim. On the top of the lid is a bronze stag with gold painted eyes. The lid is hinged with a gold metal hinge. The bottle is a solid piece of glass with just the center hollow for the ink or perfume. The bottom is scalloped with no makers mark.
The bottle is in good antique condition for its age and use. The lid opens and closes easily and the bronze stag is intact with just fading for the eye paint. The gold metal has tarnishing all over but is still shiny. The paint has almost entirely scraped away on one side and is still mostly intact on the other two sides with some large areas of missing paint. One side has all the paint missing. The front left corner has a hairline crack along the edge.
The inkwell measures 1.5 inches square. It is 2.25 inches tall.
