This is the 1940 edition of Gardening with Herbs for Flavor and Fragrance by Helen Morganthau Fox with drawings by Louise Mansfield, published by The MacMillan Company. It has cream colored covers with a repeating trellis and leaf pattern. In the center of the trellis diamonds are small flowers. The spine has a paper label with the title and author. The book is illustrated with black and white drawings by Mansfield. The book is divided into three sections - a gardening guide, an herbal encyclopedia, and a cookbook. There are 334 pages.
The book is in good vintage condition for its age and use. The cream part of the cover has darkened and stained, especially on the spine. The label is yellowed with the top left corner missing. Someone wrote #11 in pencil inside the front cover. The pages are yellowed with some foxing. The covers are attached at the spine.
The book measures 6 by 8.75 inches. It is 1.5 inches thick.
