This is the 1906 antique first edition of A Lady of Rome by F. Marion Crawford. It has light green covers with gold lettering and detailing. The front cover has a large black line illustration of a torch with vines and flowers, as well as a skull at the base. A smaller version is also on the spine, which is also lettered in gold. There are 383 pages with several advertisement pages following.
The book is in great antique condition for its age and use. The covers have minimal wear with some slight fraying to the corners and spine ends. There is one small divot to the spine edge about halfway down the front cover. There is an ink inscription inside the front cover, "Mrs. Chas N. Hickman Tipton Mo April-6-1915 From Mary Louise". The pages are yellowed.
The book measures 5.25 by 7.75 inches. It is 1.25 inches thick.
