This is the antique 1868 edition of The Huguenot Family: A Novel by Sarah Tyler, published by Harper & Brothers. The book has brown, pebbled leather covers with an embossed logo on both front and back. The spine is decorated and lettered in gold. There are 369 pages with several accompanying pages of advertisements.
The book is in good antique condition for its age and use. The covers have general wear with fading and fraying to corners and edges. The gold lettering on the spine is beginning to fade. The spine has a small tear at the top outside, but is still attached at the inside front cover with one small crack at the bottom. The back cover is still attached. This is an ex-library book, and there is still a public library stamp on the title page and a library card pocket inside the back cover. Someone wrote March 16th, 1869 in pencil on the last page of the novel. The pages are yellowed with some browning.
The book measures 7.75 by 5 inches. It is 1.5 inches thick.
