This is a set of two vintage books on Percy Bysshe Shelley. Included in the set is The Selected Poetry and Prose of Shelley, a Modern Library Book, published by Random House in 1951 and The Life of Percy Bysshe Shelley Volume Two, published by E.P. Dutton & Co. in 1933. The Life of Shelley has green covers with gold lettering and a lyre illustration on both front cover and spine. It is illustrated with black and white illustrations throughout. There are 467 pages. The Selected Poetry has its original dust jacket in turquoise, black, and white. It has illustrated endpapers and 524 pages.
Both books are in good vintage condition for their age and use. Both have general wear to covers and dust jacket with fading, discoloration, staining, and fraying to corners and edges. Both have book plates or book store stamps inside the front covers. The pages have yellowed in both, and both still have their spines attached.
The Life measures 8 by 5.75 inches. It is 1.75 inches thick. Selected measures 7.25 by 5 inches. It is 1 inch thick.
