This is a print of John George Brown's painting Reading on the Rocks that is framed under glass. The print is attached to wood and then covered by the glass. At each corner of the frame, there is an ornate brass flourish. The back has a thin wire stand to set the print upright. The back also has a paper label for Girl by the Seacoast, which mentions an attribution to Homer. Brown signed Homer's name and 1888 date to this painting, which Brown painted in 1887. There is also a label with the Museum of Fine Arts Boston. Reading on the Rocks is currently housed in Boston at the MFA, and this is potentially an antique souvenir print.
The print is in good vintage or antique condition with some wear to the edges of the glass. The glass is mostly clear, except around the top and bottom edges. The brass corners are fragile, but are still attached with tarnishing. The wood has scratches on the back and is darkened. The frame stands upright on its own.
The frame measures 6.25 inches wide by 8 inches tall. It is about 2.75 inches deep when upright.
