The book is a guide to birds in Sangamon County, Central Illinois, which includes Springfield and Jacksonville. The book is illustrated with black and white prints of Eifert's paintings. There are 238 pages.
The book is in good vintage condition for its age and use. It has general wear with discoloration to the spine. The gold lettering is intact on the cover and starting to fade on the spine. There is a pencil #11 inside front cover. The page are yellowed. The book does have an old book smell.
