This is an antique framed lithograph of the famous portrait Boy and Rabbit by Scottish artist Henry Raeburn. Raeburn's painting features his godson and step-grandson, Henry Raeburn Inglis, protectively holding his pet rabbit. Inglis was deaf and unable to speak, and eventually followed in his godfather's footsteps, becoming an artist himself. Raeburn painted the original in 1814, and this lithograph print is framed in an antique wood frame with gold painted flourishes at the corners and floral print in the top center gold shield. The print is nailed in at the back and covered with cardboard. There are metal rings with picture wire to hang the frame.
The frame and print are in good antique condition for their age and use. The frame is in good condition with general wear, including some fading, scratches, and discoloration. The gold paint is still shiny. The floral print in the top center has darkened and is mostly chipped away. The glass is clear. The picture wire is solidly attached.
The frame measures 13.25 inches long by 10 inches wide. It is about half an inch thick.
