1924 First Edition Son of Italy by Pascal D’Angelo

$40.00

This is the rare 1924 first edition of Son of Italy by Pascal D'Angelo, Italian poet and American immigrant. This edition has green covers with a cream colored inset label on the front cover and spine. This edition was published by The MacMillian Company in 1924. D'Angelo was born in Italy in 1894 and died in Brooklyn, his adopted home in 1932. This autobiography recounts his childhood in Italian, his hard work as a pick and shovel man in the United States, and his dream of being a poet. The account is peppered with his poetry.

The book is in good antique condition for its age and use. It is general wear to the covers and spine, mostly to the spine label which has darkened and chipped. Philip Hill Narnell wrote his name in blue ink inside the front cover. The covers are still attached at the spine. The pages have yellowed.

The book measures 7.5 by 5 inches. It is 1 inch thick.
