This is an antique edition of The Sleeping Beauty and Other Stories published by Henry Altemus. It has a gorgeous full color cover with an inset image of Sleeping Beauty surrounded by gold and flowers. The spine and back cover are a light lavender or gray with green lettering and floral detailing. The book is fully illustrated with Art Nouveau style illustrations throughout. The illustrations are black and white except for the full color illustration plate at the title page. There are 96 total pages.
The book is in good antique condition for its age and use. The front cover has general wear with some yellowing to the cream background. The illustration, lettering, and detailing are intact and bright. The spine has a small rip toward the top. The back cover has a large area of discoloration at the top. It almost looks like the book got burnt somehow. The covers are attached at the spine. Elsie wrote her name in pencil inside the front cover, and there is an ink inscription on the first blank page, "Merry Christmas 1912 To Elsie from Howard". The pages are yellowed.
The book measures 8.75 inches by 6.75 inches. It is half an inch thick.
