This is the 1923 sixth edition of The Cities of Umbria by Edward Hutton with 20 illustrations in color by A. Pisa, 12 other illustrations, and a map, published by Methuen & Co., Ltd. The book covers are blue with gold lettering and gold decoration on the spine. The front endpapers are a map of the cities of Umbria in Italy. The book is illustrated with lovely watercolor style illustration plates. There are also black and white illustration and photo plates. There are 337 plates with several advertisement pages that follow.
The book is great antique condition for its age and use. The covers have minimal wear with slight fraying to the corner and spine edges. The top right front corner is slightly dented. The title page has a faint pencil notation of 75 cents that was erased at some point. The pages are yellowed; the illustration plates are still bright. The spines are attached at the covers.
The book measures 7.75 by 5.25 inches. It is 1.5 inches thick.
