This is a dreamy cottage by the sea framed oil painting on canvas board. The painting features a small thatched roof cottage in the lower left corner with sandy roads leading to the sea and sky in the background. The painting is framed in gold-painted wood frame with a carved inner border. The back of the frame is covered in paper with a small blue paper label that says From Abraham & Straus Inc. Brooklyn Picture Department B 2223. Abraham & Straus was a NYC department store founded in 1865. It was in business until 1995, when it took on the Macy's name. There are o-rings and picture wire to hang it.
The painting is in good vintage condition for its age and use. It has general wear and could use a cleaning. There are 4 areas of white paint in the bottom left corner. The frame has a chippy appearance with some of the gold paint worn off. The paper on the back is beginning to peel, but the label is still attached.
The painting measures 11.5 inches long by 9.5 inches wide. It is 1 inch wide.
