This is an antique, miniature, French language Petit Missel Romain No. 17, published in Tours by Alfred Mame et Fils. It is brown leather with gold lettering on the cover and spine. The endpapers are gorgeous gold medallions on black with gold tooling around the edge. There is one black and white illustration plate at the title page. Each page is also illustrated with a black and white floral illustrations in red border lines. There are 96 gilt-edge pages.
The Missel is in good antique condition for its age and use. The corners and spine have wear with fraying and missing leather. The covers are still attached at the spines, but the illustration plate and first title page have separated from the binding. The rest of the pages are still bound but the first few pages are loose. The pages are yellowed. The gilt is still shiny.
The book measures 4.75 inches by 2.5 inches. It is a quarter of an inch thick.
