This is an antique 1906 set of World Classics featuring the Greek playwrights Sophocles and Aeschylus in Verse, published by Henry Frowde. Both books have dark green covers with embossed border lines and gold lettering and floral roses on the spine. Both books have an illustrated title page with portraits of the playwrights as well as a green floral border. Both books have burgundy ribbon bookmarks. Aeschylus has 278 pages with 8 additional pages of advertisements. Sophocles in Verse has 316 pages, also with 8 additional pages.
The books are in great antique condition for their age and use. The covers have minimal wear with only some slight discoloration to the top front right corner of Sophocles. The covers are attached at the spine. The ribbons are frayed at the ends. The pages are yellowed.
The books measure 4 by 6 inches, making them pocket editions. They are each about .75 inches thick.
