This is the French language limited 1898 antique edition of Le Prince Zilah by Jules Claretie, published by the Librarie Borel. It has marbled covers in blue, brown, green, and yellow with a dark brown leather binding. The binding is lettered in gold. The top page edges are gilded. The endpapers are also marbled in red, yellow, blue, and white. There is a yellow, red, and green bookmark ribbon. The book is fully illustrated with black and white illustrations by A. Calbet, J. Dedina, and A. Boye. There were only 75 editions published in this form.
The book is in great antique condition for its age and use. The leather does have wear especially to the top edge with some flaking and tearing along the spine. The top part of the marbling is also missing here. The covers are attached at the spine. The pages are more grayed than yellowed. The gilt is still bright, and the gold lettering is intact.
The book measures 7.5 by 4 inches. It is 1.5 inches thick.
