This is an antique set of two French language volumes of Ouvres de P. Corneille Theatre Complet Premier et Troisieme Tome, published by Librarie Garnier Freres. It has marbled covers with brown leather binding. The spines are lettered and decorated in gold as well as embossed. They also have marbled front and back endpapers. Each edition is illustrated with full color illustration plates. Volume 1 has 597 pages and Volume 3 has 697 pages. Both have gilt top page edges.
The books are in good antique condition for their age and use. They both have some discoloration to the leather bindings and covers with fraying to corners and edges. The spine decorations and gilt page ends are intact and shiny. There is also potentially water damage to the inside endpapers. Jean Pecquet's mom wrote, "Jean Pecquet Noel 1926 (Maman)" in ink inside the front covers on the first blank page. The pages are yellowing with some foxing. The illustration plates are intact.
The books measure 7.5 by 4.75 inches. They are 1 inch thick.
