This is the 1924 new and cheaper edition of The Sporting Dog by Joseph A. Graham, originally published in 1904 by The MacMillan Company. It has dark green covers with gold lettering and a lovely gold illustration of trees next to a stream. The spine is also lettered in gold. The book is fully illustrated with black and white photos of different breeds of sporting dogs. The book is a reference guide to sporting dogs such as Pointers, English Setters, Greyhounds, etc. It also covers training, care, breeding, shows, and field trials. There are 327 pages.
The book is in great antique condition for its age and use. The covers have general wear with some small white stains and the start of fraying to the corners and spine edges. The gold lettering is intact but faded somewhat. The covers are attached at the spines. The pages are yellowed.
The book measures 7.5 by 5.25 inches. It is 1.5 inches thick.
