This is the 1987 edition of The Flowering of American Folk Art 1776-1876 by Jean Lipman and Alice Winchester, published by Courage Books in cooperation with The Whitney Museum of American Art. It has the original full color folk art dust jacket with banding and spine in turquoise blue and lettering in matte gold. The covers underneath are black with gold lettering. The book is fully illustrated with both black and white and full color photographs. There are 288 pages.
The book is in great vintage condition for its age and use. The dust jacket has general wear with some darkening of the front cover. There is a bookplate and ink inscription inside the front cover. The covers are attached at the spines. The pages are bright.
The book measures 11 inches square. It is 1 inch thick.
