This is an antique ironstone sugar bowl with morning glory handles and lid. The sugar bowl is a urn pedestal style with morning glory flowers near the handles on both sides. The handles are large figural morning glories. The top of the bowl is scalloped with a lid. The lid has a curlicue border and a morning glory bud handle. The bottom is marked with a registration diamond, making this a piece of antique English ironstone dating between 1868 to 1883.
The ironstone is in good antique condition for its age and use. The lid handle was cracked and repaired. You can still see the slight glue line around the edge. Please see photos! Otherwise the piece has no other chips or cracks. The glazing is crackled with crackling stains. Most of the bottom three quarters of the sugar bowl is stained. The registration diamond on the bottom is tough to make out, but it is still there and some of the letters are still viewable.
The sugar bowl measures 8.5 inches tall. It is 4.25 inches in diameter at the base and 6.25 inches wide from handle to handle.
