This is the 1940 edition of Enchanting Stories, Easy Growth in Reading Third Reader Level Two, by Gertrude Hildreth, published by the John C. Winston Company. It has light blue covers with yellow lettering and an illustration of a windmill on the front cover. The spine is also lettered in yellow. The endpapers are a red line illustration of children in different costumes playing near a castle. The book is illustrated by Jacob Bates Abbott and Henry C. Pitz with both black and white and full color illustrations. There are 184 pages.
The book is in good vintage condition for its age and use. The covers have general wear with some fading and fraying to corners and edges. The covers are attached at the spines. B. Poling wrote their name in ink inside the front and back covers. The pages are yellowed but the illustrations are still bright.
The book measures 8 by 6 inches. It is .75 inches thick.
