This is a framed print of a rooster and hen from the 1953 Progressive Farmer magazine, presumably from the cover of the magazine, featuring artwork by Athos Menaboni. The print has been cut out collage-style around the rooster and hen. They are standing on a weathered fence post with greenery. The print has been mounted on plain cream-colored paper. It is framed with a cream and gold painted wood frame. The information about the magazine and date has also been cut out from the magazine and taped to the back of the frame. The back of the frame is covered in brown kraft paper. There is picture wire to hang the frame.
The print and frame are in good shabby chic condition for their age and use. The print was hanging in a screened in porch, and the print and frame both having fading and yellowing from the sun. The frame glass is cloudy with some dusty areas. There are some dusty areas to the cream background too. Please see photos! The glass and frame are intact with no chips or cracks. The paper on the back has torn in several places.
The frame measures 16.5 inches by 13 inches. It is half an inch thick.
